I just received a ticket yesterday from my trip back from Grand Forks on January 4th, 2012. My passenger and I were both asking ourselves where the speed limit signs were. We were actually looking for them and still missed them! I got nailed at 73 in a 60 for $253. I am very upset about this and I will go and fight it! I will send you a copy of my ticket tomorrow.

Thank you for making this public Wise Up Winnipeg!

Received a $317 start to my Grand Forks vacation on Saturday AM south of St. Norbert. Wide open 4 lane highway within view of the 100km/h. signage. 81 in a 60. Whhhhhaat? 60km/h?. That is a blatant set up. The WPS member who issued the notice could not have cared less about any safety issues. He could not get done issuing me the ticket fast enough. Had one car pulled over when he stopped me. Did not lecture me on my speed or say anything about it for that matter. I have not had a ticket in 25 yrs., nor any police involvement, had my family in the car and was keeping pace with traffic along this stretch. Have not had a ticket since 1989 but this cst. No consideration of my driving record, my situation, nothing.
I see from looking at this site, that I am not alone. Would appreciate any advice anyone out there can offer in how to go about disputing this.

I rec’d a speeding ticket in St.Norbert and will be pleading not guilty. Is there some advice i can get on going to court for the plea and how to prepare for court?

The officer would not show me the speed gun to confirm my speed and I was one of eight people he had pulled over.

What police are doing in your city is a crime. What makes me so sick is that the taxpayers have to pay the police to give them these tickets that most don’t deserve

I can’t say enough how PO’d I am about this! I have entered every camera intersection into my gps and I have it on all the time so that I am aware of them and then a ghost car gets me in a poorly marked zone. Yes, sometimes the sign is there, but there is so much visual clutter that they are so easy to miss. I am so tired of everyone ripping me off. Oh, and this week I received a wage cut after not getting a raise for the last 5 years. I would have never guessed the the police and organized crime were the same thing. Go figure.
